Toads on High

Join Bufo as he searches up and down High Street for his friend Ana.

Pick up your scavenger hunt brochure at the Visitor's Center Kiosk at High Street Landing or at various stores and restaurants on High St.  You can also view it here.

This is a scavenger hunt for kids of all ages to discover "the greatest story ever toad".

Wings Project

Support Portsmouth Public Art (SPPA) was formed by volunteers in 2010 with a mission dedicated to purchase and install public art, to educate citizens, and to create outreach to the neighborhoods in Portsmouth.

SPPA seeks to engage our citizens of all ages
to participate in the process of creating and enjoying pubic art. We are nearly 70 citizens strong and growing.

Will you join us? Your support makes our mission possible – to bring artists of all kinds together to showcase the talent, history, and beauty that is Portsmouth, Virginia. Read More >

We need your help and donation!! SPPA is producing steampunk wings for Olde Towne; the artist is Ellen Bible and welder is Chris Goodwin.  These wings will be made of various metal objects. Look around your garages, basements, and attics for valves, gears, chainsaw chains, bicycle & car parts, and old metal construction & garden tools. The more unusual the better. Anything stainless or copper, yes! Anything rusty, yes! Small fire extinguishers, yes! Small boat and lawnmower parts, yes!

Call John Joyce 757-582-5330 if you wish to make a donation. I will come and get it. I can’t promise that the artist will be able to use it but if it is cool enough, who knows. Since wings are symmetric, two is always better. So start hunting for that treasure and maybe see your trash become a treasured art piece.
